Terrestrial ecology surveys identify the significant animal and vegetative species present at a site. While preliminary surveys aim to identify the baseline communities present within a survey area, these baseline surveys are often followed by an evaluation of the ecological communities present and by the assessment of the potential impacts of a proposed project. Ongoing monitoring throughout both the construction and operation phases of a project is also often required.
